Week 1

Image
One Day Project Colour Swatches For this task, we were asked to take inspiration from Rachel Spelling and fill a colour chart with small images, based on the colours. I really enjoyed this task, loving to challenge myself with colours and how/what to draw in such a small box. I would of liked to have finished more of the boxes but I'm happy with how most of them turned out in the end. My favourite by far is my tentacle box, it sticking out massively compared to the rest. If I were to attempt to finish this in the future, I would focus on a bigger range of colours and on how to make the small boxes pop individually.

Colour Research - 1

Colour Research 1 This is the initial research for my colour brief. There isn't much for now, as I would like to continue to add to this page and expand my options before limiting myself to one colour. At the moment I have an idea for two colours, and how I could use them for future works.

Historical Figure - 2

Mary Leakey 'A renowned hunter of early human fossils' Mary Leakey is the other historical figure I was given, and although I think she is interesting I have chosen my first figure, Hatshepsut. I have many more ideas and paths I can take with Hatshepsut. This video shows my initial research into who Mary Leakey was, her successes and the stories of her working life. I will continue to research into Mary Leakey until I am told otherwise. This page will be updated regularly until this happens.

Historical Figure Research - 1

Hatshepsut 'The female king of Egypt' Hatshepsut is one of the two historical figures I was given, and is by far my favourite. This video shows the beginning of my research into who Hatshepsut was, her story and the beginning of my research into her culture and appropriate appearances. I also started brainstorming ideas for stories I could use for my work in the future, although that will be built on as time moves on. This page will be updated regularly as I learn more and continue to add to it. (I am using an app called 'Miro' on my ipad to create these research pages, so if this video doesn't work photos will be uploaded instead)
