  Colour Brief - Finals Creating the base/theatre itself: When creating my final piece, I used foamboard and hot glue like I had originally planned, although to did show to be more trouble then I had originally thought. I had never used foamboard before, so trying to find the best way to cut through it proved challenging. In the end, I used a super sharp craft knife, and even then the foam board would pull apart. Throughout this process I followed the same instructions as previously followed, just making the entire thing bigger.  Once I began creating the base, and the surrounding decorative theatre, I used the trial and error method. I measured it all up compared to the system itself, then stuck it all together. Creating this without a plan was liberating, and worked out really well, although for the future I should definitely plan and trial this out first. Character Brief Final Storyboard, Vignettes and Character Sheets Overall, I'm really happy with how my final pieces came along, although I wish I had done more with them. My storyboard particularly, I would improve by adding more detail and colour in to make it more interesting to the eye. My character sheets I am happy with, although I would also improve them with more colour and extra poses. I'm really happy with how my two vignettes turned out, being complete opposites and powerful within their own selves.

Character Update Storyboard After developing my ideas further, especially with the help of my animation, I have pushed my storyboard into a cleaner, fuller piece compared to my last storyboard. I really like this storyboard, although colorless and simple, I think it presents the story really well whilst leaving enough mystery to leave my audience guessing. I would like to develop this further into a finished piece for my last storyboard, whether that means adding colour or more detail.

Colour Story Update Last minute bits Before creating my final piece, I wanted to consider the materials and font I would be using for the scroll and ending card. After testing materials, I found fine liners, brush pens, red marker pens and acrylic paints were the most successful for the aesthetic I wished to create. I also decided to go for the second style font, although roughed. 

Colour Story Update Storyboard After creating the test for my stage, I felt really confident moving forward with the actual story itself. I created a storyboard to retell the story I have followed, showing each panel that will be in the scroll. When creating this storyboard, I was very conscious and considerate of my audience and the theme I am following with this story. I wanted to create powerful message, without being insensitive of offensive, of which I feel I have done with this. To ensure this, I did go around to all of my peers and friend groups and asked for their honest opinions, of which I got positive feedback. So I will be moving forward with this positively for my final piece.

Animation Research Animal movement With moving forward with my storyboard, and starting looking into my animation more, I decided to some research into the actual anatomy and movements of the animals I would be animating. Particularly Snakes. I looked through multiple documentaries, reference videos, photos and videos of animators and 3d modeler's recreating snake and cat movements. Overall, I now feel more confident moving forward with my animation and finishing my storyboard off, as I have a better understanding of my chosen animals.

Stage Test After researching how I could actually create this test, I followed the steps shown through the YouTube tutorial I have linked. This entire experience was both really exciting and incredibly frustrating to create. I loved trying something new and exciting, playing with the concept and eventually getting the entire piece the work. However, the process was long and tedious, especially with the measurements being off due to the material difference (between my use of cardboard and the foamboard suggested). I unfortunately forgot to record alot of my process, however I did remember to take a few photos of my progress throughout.  At this stage, I had created the stencils and cut out each individual piece from cardboard. Then, I stuck the sides, front and back to the base, and then together to create the box shape. Beforehand, I had precut the gaps in each piece, and pre-pierced the small holes into the base ready for the spindles. In these two photos, you can see the creation...

Stage Idea After discovering my original scroll idea wouldn't work, I really thought about what I could do that would be different to my peers, and original to my ideas. In still considering incorporating a scroll, and with some help, I decided to try creating an old fashioned theatre that has a movable scroll. In designing this, I  really considered my story of red riding hood, and how I can incorporate the same feel and style from those ideas into the design on the theatre. I will be making a practise theatre to test my ideas.
